🎉 Announcing the Winner of the Fabric Community DataViz Contest! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fabric Community DataViz Contest! Your creativity and passion for storytelling truly blew us away. From eye-catching visuals to compelling narratives, each entry made this contest something special. We’re thrilled to share the winner, runners-up, and a few of our judges’ favorites.

We saw a wide range of participants in this challenge, and we learned that in upcoming challenges it will be helpful to create a category for learners, or people within the first year of their Power BI journey. Stay tuned for this new category in upcoming contests.

🏆 Winner: Bibiano Geraldo

Bibiano’s report immediately stood out for its strong visual storytelling, vibrant color palette, and professional design quality. His creative use of animation, images, and flow creates an engaging and immersive experience that feels polished and thoughtfully composed. The color scheme, clarity, and narrative flow make it easy to follow the story from start to finish—an impressive feat!

🌟 Runners Up

While there can only be one winner, we also want to recognize a few standout entries that impressed the judges with their creativity, clarity, and thoughtful storytelling. These dashboards were exceptional in their own right:

• Santhana Lakshmi Ponnurasan: The Science of Bird Migration
  • Santhana Lakshmi impressed us with a well-organized layout, a cohesive earthy color scheme, and thoughtful use of icons that enhanced the dashboard’s clarity and visual appeal.
    
• Jason Carl Martin Tupas: Bones of a Feather: Exploring Avian Skeletal Adaptations
  • Jason wowed us with an innovative design and detailed, advanced analysis. His dashboard showcased a deep understanding of the data and brought a technical rigor that stood out.
    

✨ Judges' Favorites

There were so many strong submissions that we couldn’t resist sharing a few of our personal favorites. Here are some dashboards that caught the judges' attention for their creativity, design, or unique approach to data storytelling:

• Shivam Singh -Streamside Bird Monitoring Dashboard (ERMN, 2011–2022)
  • Judges especially appreciated the accessibility efforts in Shivam's report - the alternative text explained how to navigate within a visual, a very nice touch!
• Mallika V - Birds on the Move
  • The insights in Malika's report were perfectly on theme, with a clean layout and a nice balance between narrative and visual form.
• JEDAL - Monitoring Birds
  • Fany's report has a very clean and concise layout!
